Dicamba has the IUPAC name 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid and is an organochloride group of chemical which is derived from benzoic acid. It is a type of broad spectrum herbicide which is used to control rose weed, legumes, cacti, and broadleaf weeds. This compound is used in grain crops, pastures, non-crop areas and rangeland in combination with some other herbicides. Dicamba works by increasing the plant growth rate which results in the death of the plant due to its outgrowth having the limited nutrient supply.
